Katie's 1st Blog

I was told last night by the big bro I should write a blog. I guess he's right. I kept thinking while trying to fall asleep, what do I write about? What should I say? The light bulb sparked and I realized, TALK ABOUT THE BAND! Haha, what a concept. It's been a crazy exciting ride so far and it's only just begun. My wheels turn daily, hourly, minutely, secondly about things we can work on and add for some extra "spice." Eventually there will be hula-hoops involved.

I think we've been out for about two weeks now that Tim has been in Mexico (must be nice) and I'm starting to feel symptoms of withdrawal from not playing. So, of course I am MORE than excited for our show at Mr. Roberts and I'm MORE than confident that it will be a great show, unless I become terribly ill or something awful. I'll keep eating my clementines and taking my vitamins. No worries.

What have we been up to lately? DJ, Dan and I got together on Thursday evening and started working out three new songs that will hopefully be ready for our opening gig at the Frequency, unless we decide to stick with originals. In which case, we'll play the new songs at Club Tavern.

We've also been back in the studio, FINALLY, working on our last group of songs - The Way I am, Caribbean Groove, Shake That, Not Your Turn and Monster. It's a slow process, but without a doubt it will be great! If anyone has album name suggestions, feel free to give your input.

After practice Thursday, I was on my way home listening to the latest cuts we'd made at the studio when I started to get into it and decided to take a different route home. I did in fact take the longer, more scenic way. Mind you in this 20 below weather I witnessed a man attempting to crawl (yes crawl) across the road. I called 911 and stopped another vehicle coming in the other direction from running him over. I give credit to the great sounding demo we have going for making me take a left turn instead of going straight home that night. WOW. As Kari Moen might say, "That's intense."

Other than that, my fingers are starting to get cold from typing so I will close this first blog of mine with a very sincere Thank You to everyone for being so supportive. Dan, DJ and Tim have been great when it comes to dealing with an emotional 22-year-old female musician. The same goes to my Family and Friends. I Love you all very much. Stay warm. "Look both ways before you cross the street" ... and use your feet. HAHA!

Later Gaters.
