News Flash

The other day upon the stairs, I saw a man who was not there. He was not there again today. Gee I wish he'd go away.

Random Fact

The song "Winter's End" was originally written in the key of Bm, but for a male singer. When DJ taught it to the band, the vocal part was too low for Katie to sing and the song was changed to the key of Em. It's a good thing women do not have deep manly voices.

A Couple New Ones

2010-04-08

DJ

Had a very productive practice last week and cranked out 3 or 4 new tunes. We gave them a test drive at our two shows over the weekend with much success. Tim gives it 110% in 'Love Shack' and Katie finally learned the harmonies for 'Don't Ever Change'. Good stuff!!!

Katie and I are going up north this weekend for her birthday, so when you see her next, apologize for me that I still haven't gott... Read More

Bueno! It is not like I was sick and tired of my sister's death gaze, I just figured a fresh look and feel to the website would be a fun challenge. I hope you like it, I spent a grand total of 4 hours re-designing the site. For those geeks out there like me, I used a new php framework called cakePHP! Very very cool stuff!

Thanks to the folks who attended our fabulous 100th show at Vinnie's. Tha... Read More

After some much needed rest and relaxation, we are back! I just pulled up the ole' calendar and was wondering, how many shows have we played thus far in 2009? My quick once over counted 53 shows. Holy smokes! What a busy year it has been!

I am well aware that I haven't posted an update on the site in what seems like forever, but I will soon be sorting through what would seem like box... Read More

Evolution of Old Tunes

2009-04-08

DJ

Many, many moons ago Katie and I played music together while I was in college. We called ourselves Sibling Rivalry as an acoustic duo. Our music was good and we had a lot of fun writing tunes together, but it was nowhere near as powerful and tight as these songs have evolved with Tim and Dan conducting the rhythm section. I recently formatted my computer and in the midst of backing up all of my... Read More

I was told last night by the big bro I should write a blog. I guess he's right. I kept thinking while trying to fall asleep, what do I write about? What should I say? The light bulb sparked and I realized, TALK ABOUT THE BAND! Haha, what a concept. It's been a crazy exciting ride so far and it's only just begun. My wheels turn daily, hourly, minutely, secondly about things we can work on and ad... Read More

Hello two-thousand nine! I am quite proud of myself for not yet needing to void a check for printing the wrong date; although it was a close call this afternoon when I paid my rent. And what did I learn, looking back at all the accomplishments of 2008? Well I know that having a sound guy at our live shows is absolutely awesome (thank you Darren). I also know that covering a rocking song by Ronn... Read More

M.V.C. What I am Up To

DJ Scullin

For those of you who do not know this, I am merely a part-time rocker. I spend the rest of my days at a desk in front of a computer. My job title is "Systems Analyst" ohhhhh la la! This pretty much is a big word for someone who writes software. During my time in Elkhorn programming for one of our many other divisions, I stumbled upon an MVC framework written in the language PHP known as CodeIgn... Read More

Thanksgiving Eve

It was a frigid cold night as I packed my things. The day usually ends at 5:00 PM on a Wednesday where I come from, but not tonight. I knew my day had just begun and would probably end nearer to 5:00 in the AM. Today was Thanksgiving Eve, one of the biggest bar nights of the year. Kids and adults, young and old all come home for this wonderful holiday to gorge on turkey and everything else. Bef... Read More

Weekend of music

DJ Scullin

What a stellar weekend! Friday's show at the Alchemy in Madison was smooth as silk. I love playing those Madison shows because the tap beer is always amazing. There's something to be said about a beer known as "Hopalicious" and that something would be, "Mmmmmm!" That night I met a very nice couple who straight out declared themselves as groupies. They gave me a very nice complement on the websi... Read More
